Gary and I have been married for 50 years.  We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

I was a stay at home Mom for many years.  I renovated several old homes and was an Interior Designer at Bares House of Quality, a furniture store in Sioux Falls, SD for 6 years.  In 1984 we moved to Phoenix, bout a carpet store and two years later opened another one in Glendale which I managed.  We sold both stores in 2005, retired to the original Sun City Country Club Golf Course and love it.

Other than Gary, our sons and grandchildren, other important highlights would be our move to Phoenix.  We had a life long dream come true of owning our own lake cabin when in 2002 we built a cabin on Lake Couer d'Alene, ID.  And, I finally got a college degree.

I love to read, golf, boat and travel.  We have taken many vacations to Canada, Mexico and WHawaii and traveled to several countries in Europe.  We were fortunate enough to be able to tke both of our mothers to Hawaii when they were in their 80's.  Memories.  Priceless.

Last October we spent 3 weeks in Shanghai with Brad, our daughter-in-law, Kris, and 3 of our grandchildren.  Brad is a chemical engineer and  moved  from California to China a year ago to build a plant for his company.  We plan to return  to China to see the finished plant before he moves back to the states in 2010.
Brian's son and daughter play basketball and Soccer respectively and of course we go to a lot of their games. Watch for Hayley  Thorfinnson , in about 5 years she will be a soccer star, she is very good and gorgeous.  David willfully helps Gary and me with our golf game.  Bless his soul.  I have 2 small dogs, Abbey and Spiky.
My favorite fun movie is "Heaven Can Wait" and my favorite song is The Twelfth of Never by Johnny Mathis.

We have lived in 7 different towns.  We basicly raised our sons in  Sioux Falls, living there for 16 years. I can't believe we have lived in Arizona for 25 years.  After selling our Floor Covering Stores in 2005 we retired. We now spend 6 months on the golf course  and 6 months at the Lake.  Our kids have always been able to spend a week to a month at the lake with us.  Even the family in China.

My favorite memories are of good friends, potluck, slumber parties, movies at the starlite, dances and decorating for school parties.
Believe it or not my Favorite teacher at Central was the Geometry teacher, Mr. Moxness.  He gave me straight A's

I have been married to Nancy Dorsher for 47 years- we met 52 years ago.  We have 4 children and eight grandchildren.  I have always lived in Grand Forks,

I am retired. I owned B-R chemical Co.which supplied all schools with chemicals, and janitorial supplies.  I was owner and salesman.

Some of my  most important highlights over the past 50 years include: Having a great wife and children, having my health, and in 1995 I was elected into the North Dakota Fastpitch softball HALL OF FAME in Jamestown, North Dakota. I was a pitcher for the Seven-up fastpitch Softball team. We had a super team and we won the North Dakota fastpitch state title in 1971 and took 2nd in 1972. I played on two state title teams and took 2nd-twice. I pitched and played for 14 years and played all over North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Manitoba. It was the best time of my life and I met many friends in the process.

I enjoy hunting deer and big game, golfing, taveling. I have four great kids, Becky, Bob, David, and Patti. I have eight grand children and I love baseball and football and my favorite movie is SHANE.

I loved the 50s as they were so innocent. I loved cars and in 1959 I built one of the first street rods in Grand Forks, it was a 1931 chevrolet with a 283 cu. inch chevy in it. The cars name was SCATTER.I would like to tell you how I came up with the name SCATTER. WE were going to have a big drag race on 24th Ave. South one night. In those days we would get a crowd to watch the race. There were about 10 people behind the cars and about the same in front of the cars. My friend Mike Julison was the flag man and I heard him hollar "Everybody scatter". Right then I thought to name the car "SCATTER" because when you see this car coming you better scatter. Corny but true. I lucked out. I sold the car in 1965 when the kids started coming and forty years later I was able to buy the car back in 2005. I am reliving my youth. I enjoyed all my class mates and have great memories of Toby's IT Drive-in, the Kegs, A and W Drive-in, and Jacobys Drive-in. We loved to drag race in those days and we would never dare go uptown with a dirty car. I tell people now days about our days as teenagers. We would go out in the country and drink 3 warm beers, throwup, go get a monster burger and be home by 10 and say "Boy, I had a great night".I respected my classmates so much as I felt we were a team.  Nobody was a snob, and we had fun.

I have been married to my wife, Barbara, for 39 years.  We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

I teach at Scottsdale Community College and own my own language school, Spanish Forum Language Institute in Scottsdale.  I have written four textbooks for Spanish.

Over the past 50 years, some of my most important highlights include: accepting Christ as my personal savior. Marrying my wife.  Having three great children and three grandchildren.

Some of my favorite things to do include: Helping poor people in the area around my church in our outreach program.  Writing textbooks for Spanish.  I garden in the winter.  Travel to Latin America and Spain.

Since graduating from Central I have lived in  Eugene, Oregon; Madison, WI; Philadelphia, Milwaukee, WI; Tucson, AZ; Phoenix, AZ the latter the longest for 22 years.  We moved to Phoenix from Tucson to join a great soul-winning church, Phoenix First Assembly.

Some of my favorite memories from Central High days:  I enjoyed the leather-jacket guys in engineer boots with horseshoe clicks, who would cut a run on the terrazzo hallways and skid along throwing up sparks.  I liked Spanish class and Spanish club.  My favorite teacher was Mrs. Wineman.

I am so sad that so many, 45, of the class are deceased. May they rest in peace.

Use email; I'm seldom home.

Retired in 2001 as a librarian, business teacher and finally a computer weeny at a community college in Lake County, Illinois, north of Chicago.  Presently I live in downtown Chicago for six months of the year, Buenos Aires, Argentina for four to five months and the rest of the time in Florida or traveling.

I enjoy reading, the gym, movies, rotisserie baseball; playing cards with other old men takes up most of the other time.  Also, of course, staying in touch with friends and my country via the internet.

Over the past 50 years, some of my most important highlights include: My wife Margie, of Toronto, Canada, and I were married for 35 years and she passed away in March of 2003.  She was Chief Financial Officer for one of the main units of Sungard Investment Systems and taught me most everything I know about travel and living well.  I also had the privilege of serving in the U. S. Navy for four years, although under extreme hardship in San Francisco, where I met my wife.  We traveled endlessly, whenever there was free time, all over the world.

My top most favorite thing to do is travel; highlights include photo safaris in Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa, dozens of  day  hiking expeditions, particularly in Tuscany and France.  The more rigorous hiking as in Patagonia or Costa Rica is now behind me, but walking in the Italian countryside with an escorted group is still viable and one of the loveliest things a person can do.

I have lived in more than a dozen places since graduating from Central.  I lived the longest in Libertyville, Illinois, 1972-2001.  I got tired of cutting the grass and shoveling the snow, so we moved to downtown, Chicago, but I get out of town as soon as cold weather threatens.  Hence, I live in Buenos Aires for part of the year because the weather is the direct opposite of Chicago.

I attended Central for 6 years, from grade 7 to 12. That was before the Junior High on the north side was built.  There were 18 year olds in some of the gym classes in the 8th grade.  One worked hard to stay out of their way.  One day two policemen arrested and dragged one of the older boys out of the class, certainly a highlight of show and tell.

Over the past 50 years, some of my most important highlights include: Working as an S-LP; serving on the Provincial Board for P.E.O; "Being with" and loving the "GRANDS"!
I enjoy swimming, wintering in Marco Island, FL, volunteering with Speech Path's, reading, visiting my 97 year old Dad in GF.  Three of my granddaughters are in all forms of dance and my grandson, 7, is in hockey; hip hop and jazz
After  graduating from Central I lived in Grand Forks for 3 years and then Winnipeg to now. I ended up in Winnipeg because I married a Canadian.
Some of my favorite memories from Central High days include:  Lunch at the Y,Pot-luck.

I have been married to Kenneth R. Starr for 35 years.  We have 1 daughter.
I was a Professor and Chair of the Division of Music at Minot State University.  I taught Music Ed and served as Coordinator of Music Education.  After 41 years, I retired last July 31, 2008.  Doing now?- nothing in general and everything I want.

Over the past 50 years, some of my most important highlights are 1. At the age of 38, the birth of our one daughter, Rebecca, and growing with her. She now teaches in the GF Public Schools, 4-8 orchestra, is getting married in GF in August to Rich McFarlane (teaches at Red River, Speech/Theater).
2. Over 4 decades, all of the music teachers I have helped train. It has been an honor. I am proud of all of their accomplishments now.
3. Founding (1991) and directing (through 2008) an area children's choir in Minot. Other groups I have directed, include church choir for 31 years.

No grandkids yet-- we'll look for some next year. We love to travel- whenever we have time we love to get going out of state.
Brothers- David (and Yvonne) live in Idaho Falls, ID.  He is a retired school principal. Brother Dennis (and Jane) live in GF; he retired from GFPS (Red River HS) several years ago.

We've lived in MN IA, ND--- pretty boring persons. Lived the longest in Minot- 41 years now.  Don't know why people end up where they do.  We like it here and in ND, it has always been our secure place. Many good friends here. I have loved being at Minot State U and all of the people I have worked with.  I had opportunities to leave but, for one reason or another,  did not take them.  Maybe after a couple years, when my husband retires, we will move somewhere warmer.  We'll see.

Some of my favorite memories from Central High days:  Third floor- at one end, Sherwood, and at the other corners, Bonhoff and Winters. Great teachers. The choir room and classrooms. Centralian Chorus and Choraliers. Musicals. Band way down under. Lunchroom way down under.  Going "off campus" to all of the downtown cafes for lunch.  Clubs.  All those can-cans. Gym clothes. Locker bays. Potlucks. (people here, now, look at me really strangely when I talk about "Potlucks." Slumber parties. Great parades. Games. State basketball tournaments at the old UND Fieldhouse. You know what comes to mind so very vividly? Sophomore English. I believe it was Miss Edmunds, west side of the 2nd floor-- diagramming sentences!

Have really been looking forward to the 50th.  Do we not remember all too well when we were in HS, all of those old people at their 50th reunion. WE laughed about when and if we would get there. Well, here we are!
