I have been married to Ed Feldman for 20 years. We met in the mid 80's and were married in Hawaii in 1989. We have a combined family of 7 children (Ed's 4 and my 3), plus 9 grandchildren. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching the little ones grow, and have been able to participate in many of their activities including college graduation for two of them this spring.
After high school, I married my first husband and had my three children before starting college (not the smartest thing to do)! After finally graduating from UND in 1972 at the age of 32, I began teaching science at a junior high school in Schaumburg, IL. I continued coursework and earned a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Northern Illinois Univ. and then a degree in school administration from the University of Illinois. I later worked as an assistant principal at a junior high school, and then was appointed principal of an elementary school in neighboring Palatine, IL, a job I truly loved. I retired in 1998, and have returned as interim principal on several occasions. I am currently fully retired. Ed is retired from his surgical practice so we have the luxury of time together to enjoy our large family.
Highlights since high school include: marrying Ed and having a second chance at love and marriage, raising my three children, and then watching all of them graduate from college. In fact my son, Jeff returned to UND and graduated in Engineering. Since Ed and I were married we have traveled quite extensively. For me, one of our most meaningful journeys was to Norway where we visited the area where three of my grandparents lived before coming to America. In fact, I was able to go into the house where one of my grandmother's was born.
In addition to travel, some of my hobbies include golf, reading, cross country skiing, gardening and walking our little dog "Oliver" around the lake. He is an adorable little cock-a-poo we refer to as our "late in life child". I must admit that he is a bit spoiled!
One of my favorite memories of high school is of Mr. Haesle our band director. I remember how he used to lean back and allow a warm smile to cross his face when we played well, and then how he would frown, wave his baton and say "NO, NO, NO, kids" when we didn't!
I have lived in 2 locales, several different homes. I moved to Illinois in 1973 and have been in this area ever since, although in five different homes. I look forward to our reunion even though I still can't believe it will be 50 years since we graduated!
